Graphite exothermic welding mould for Lighting Protection and Undergrand Grounding System
Exothermic welding is a modern technology, which by the chemical reaction(exothermic reaction) of aluminum and cupric oxide to produce the residue of high temperature liquid copper and alumina, and use the high temperature in the exothermic reaction to accomplish electric welding. This reaction was accomplished in the heat-resistant graphite mould, it only took a few seconds.
There is no need for extra energy, only welding powder will do. It's easy to operate, and the welding is secure. The interface composition of metal is tiemolecule, so there is no corrosion.
The exothermic welding can be applied to the following materianls:
stainless steel |
Monel |
niobium |
steel rail |
tantiron |
steel |
bronze |
cast iron |
thermochronix |
Everdur |
galvanized steel |
wrought iron |
The design and materials can be made according to the customers' requirements, in normal conditions, the moulds can be used for 50-100 times, and some special ones can be used for 100-150 times.
The endurance of the moulds is affected by working environment and operations, after a research, we recommend you to pay attention to the folowing items:
1. Heating the mould before using, to get rid of the moisture in the mould.
2. The volume of the melting stuff can not exceed the size of the mould.
3. Check the mould-holder carefully, and do some proper adjustments, to make sure that the mould-holder and the mould in the perfect position.
4. Use soft brush to clean the residue, metallic and hard tools will not be used.
